history: The term "masochism"

Sacher-Masoch often made use of what he termed the "perversion" of
masochism in his writing, so he used Sacher-Masoch's name to create the term
"masochism."

manifested by fantasies, urges, or behaviors” ONLY if these urges are causing
some kind of functional impairment in social, occupational or other areas of
one's life.

expect others to provide pain, or look for a way to get someone to humiliate

single thing -- it is a continuum, and what one masochist might like, another
